I upgraded to WordPress 2.8 and I wish I hadn’t, I immediately found a couple bugs that hamper my daily workflow. The first being that the “Upload/Insert” buttons above a post don’t work, I have to separately go to the media section to upload images. Not as big of a deal, and perhaps this is just a setting now, but WP doesn’t auto save my post. So if I crash whilst typing out a post and I didn’t think to save a draft, I’ve lost it all. I really didn’t expect it to feel like a step backwards, it’s frustrating.
On a completely other note, here’s a guy that could perhaps be related to a Mon Calamari. Or not, who knows!

If you want, we can look at your installation together. Those functions were not taken out of 2.8.

I finally had the time to look up that problem on the WP site. I saw a number of people having the same issue and it sounded like it might be related to plugins. I updated all my plugins and deleted/deactivated the ones I’m not using and problem solved (as far as the media uploader).
