One more robot (attack)
I was going through my old, unfinished, drawings today and found this guy. I had the line drawing and flats done back in March of 09, thought it would be fun to finish it up and get it posted!

DnD
My dragonborn warlord, Nithrogarr, pissed this guy off at the end of our last gaming session. Nithrogarr was able to intercept him at the last moment, foiling whatever evil plans he had in motion. As soon as Nithrogarr grabbed him, they both vanished into the sky in a flash of light.
We all got enough experience to level, which was cool. I just hope Nithrogarr survives, wherever he was taken, so he can reach level 2!

Oil Pastel
I’ve had the Oil Pastel brush in painter in my pallette since the end of last semester, but hadn’t had much chance to play with it. I used it on today’s daily image and afterward found myself doodling around with it. I like the feel of it a lot, I can lay down subtle values and blend with the same brush. Very cool. I think I’ll try a figure study shortly.
Not a lot going on in this image, it’s rather abstract. I like the eyes though, it has a pleasantly dark tone to them.

Daily… A girl in pink
edit–> Looking back at this, the composition is quite lacking. I should have offset the building like structures to the left, it would showcase the figure better and it would give the sense that she was looking at them. Oh well, I don’t feel like trying to edit the piece (as I flattened it).<--edit

Daily… Another creature
In the same style as yesterday’s daily. I don’t care for this one as much, the general shape of the body isn’t very interesting to me. I like the head/tentacle/tendril thing though. At the moment I’m just trying to show basic form (which still needs work), but I really see that I need to work on the internal structure. By that, I mean show more anatomy, even on a made up creature.

I started with a basic silhouette and tried developing it into a creature (top left), then did two variations based off the original.

Daily… Concepting
Made some drawing progress today. Rather than getting bogged down trying to figure out what I wanted to draw, I just sat down and jumped into it. I tend to have so many drawing interests that I lose focus while trying to decide what sort of subject matter or style I want to tackle. I’ve been piecing it together that I over think some things.
I’ve been wanting to get back into painting again. I started with some rough colors and blended them together for the background. I quickly blocked in the figure with dark greys then added a basic light source. I after that I did a rough detail pass. I like the general idea of the character, but the pose as usual is rather bland. I think it would be fun to come back to this though and really try and develop the design.

Daily… A panda in the water
The last thing he had wanted to do was go for a swim. When 99% of your body is covered in fur, drying off is a bitch.
