I did a lot of abstract sketching, starting with a lot of overlapping lines and letting the happy accidents help dictate where I went with the drawing.

Does that subject title sound artsty and pretentious? Maybe I could have a career in fine art afterall! Well that sounded a bit harsh. But seriously, art pretension is lame!
