Sortof a lighting study, but without any reference. Just trying to push myself to be able to paint without any reference, but still get a nice quality to the work. Still feels really rough, but I think I like the direction it’s headed.

Daily… Preview of a death knight
I don’t think I mentioned it, but I started playing World of Warcraft again after 5 years of being away. The most recent expansion, Cataclysm, has large parts of the world changing, due to a …. yup, a cataclysm. It’s tons of fun to see how many of the areas I remember have been changed.
One of the new classes added in the previous expansion is the Death Knight. They start at a mid-high level and are pretty badass. I created one the other day and the intro story was very engaging, it felt like a departure from the standard gameplay. I was really feeling the itch to draw my character, but when I got in bed to draw, I felt more like sleeping! So this was a quick, more cartoony, look at the Death Knight. Grrr! He has a dark past!
Daily… An akward character
I had a certain feeling in mind for this creature when I was working on him. I wasn’t thinking about it too much at the time, but the face I gave him just feels at odds with the body. I get the feel of a ‘swamp thing’ body with a ‘big-foot’ pose and then just some guys face on the whole package. A chimera of sorts I guess.
Daily… Connected
Didn’t get home from class until late again, always throws off my schedule. I only have two more weeks to go, I’m gonna miss school. I really enjoy taking art and animation classes, but time to move on I suppose. To what though? I’m not quite sure yet.
Daily… Feels like winter
Finished my homework for the evening, time to sleep and then jump back into it bright and early tomorrow. What I really want is time to work on some personal projects! And if you couldn’t tell by the subject of tonight’s image, I’m cold. Our bedroom window has zero insulation and lets all the cold air in. Chilly!
