Daily… A demon or fairy
Had some fun with a textured brush in Photoshop, trying to suggest a figure coming out of smoke or something.
I’ve been doing quick figure studies in-between my work projects. They’re coming along, but drawing/painting the figure is incredibly difficult for me. In this piece, I wanted to get away from a specific idea of form. I started with large abstract shapes for the smoke and then started to lightly suggest the figure with little hints of light. It’s simple, but it’s neat to apply what I’ve been learning in the studies to a personal piece.

Drapery study
For my digital clothed figure drawing class we had to do a drapery study (cloth draped over the figure in some way). He wanted us to ignore the figure itself and instead focus on how the fabric formed around the figure.

Figure Sketch
A quick sketch of a figure using the same speed painting techniques I’ve been trying out. The proportions feel off on the figure, one of my weaknesses, but I like the feel.
