Daily… A robit revisited
I was rather unhappy with my robot sketch from last night. I was tired and a bit down from having to deal with computer issues. I just didn’t like the robot design, as in my mind, there wasn’t one. I should’ve gone over it with one more layer to come up with something a little less ‘michelin man’.
This evening I wanted to tackle another robot and get a bit more descriptive with the sketch.
Daily… A robit
Well the GPU on my iMac died again today. It last failed, and was subsequently replaced, in Febuary. I’ll be taking it into the shop in the next couple days, I likely won’t have it back for a week or two (based on how long it took last time). It’s frustrating. I’m okay with computers acting like computers, but as this is my main work machine, I feel cut-off from my normal workflow.
Daily… An engineer and his robot
I go through phases where I’m incredibly focused artistically and phases where it’s a complete struggle to draw. I’ve been in the latter phase recently. This leads me to do more little sketches in my sketchbook rather than working on paintings. It’s not really a bad thing, as sketching is good practice, but I really wanting to be working towards more finished work.
School has been rather busy and there’s only a couple weeks left in the semester. I’ve been tired from being pulled in so many directions, but I’ve still had the time to paint. I just haven’t had the motivation. I have a lot of artistic plans and ambitions, I need to work past this slump and focus my energy. I’ll be out of school shortly which will be quite a weight off my shoulders, I fully plan to take advantage of that!
