Doodling in painter tonight and came up with this mech/robot/creature type thing.

Daily… A curious robot
I’m still unsatisfied, in general, with how much time I’m putting into these daily drawings. School and work have been busy enough that when I want to be drawing or painting, I feel I need to put my energy elsewhere. That leads to doing my drawing right before bed, at which point I’m rather tired, and I typically rush the image. I have some big deadlines coming up as well, so I don’t expect to be where I want until maybe next weekend. I’m trying to get ahead of work and school so that I can be drawing in the mornings when I’m full of energy.
Daily… More dalek exploration
In this set of sketches I was exploring more dog shaped dalek designs. I’m still looking for the right combination of dalek and dog. This part of the process is always fun and I never quite know where the final design will end up.
Daily… A dalek’s best friend
I started using Piwik for my analytics and I’ve liked the results, I find the stats much easier to read than Google’s analytics. I saw a two referrals from boingboing.net’s submissions page, where user Bliss was linking to my baby dalek sketch. They asked, what’s next, dalek puppies? Yes, dalek puppies are next!
This was my first go designing a dalek dog, very much along the lines of the doctors k9 robot.
Daily… A baby dalek
Yes, you read that correctly. Here’s a sketch of a dalek baby. I used a Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer pencil for the sketch and then added value with a few values of the Copic Sketch Markers. The cool thing about the pencil is that it really activates with any sort of water and becomes a wash. It means I can use a N0 marker (meaning it has almost no value to it) and I can blend the pencil work.
